Quotes:
"Nude is always conventionalized and the authority for its conventions derived from a certain tradition of art."
'The ideal spectator is assumed to be male and the image of the women is designed to flatter him"
"Nakedness was created in the mind of the beholder"
"What are you looking at?"is some work that I've created. The collage addresses many themes discussed in class; specifically women's gaze and identity. You will discover nature, abstract material, and explicit sketches of both male and female genitalia. The artists that inspired me are 730t & Brianna Marie. My explicit sketches are up to one's interpretation. Societal norms may exert influence on ideas appropriate or correct for each gender. Nudity does not have to be sexual. It's no secret that a naked woman is often sexualized but it's the person that decides whether it is uncivil or sexual. In Koma, the people have managed to exist outside of modern civilization. They're able to move near-naked or freely naked. This demonstrates how as a society we decide what's appropriate for women and men.
