Sherman had inspired other artists to use their art as a presentation, but not also to represent but to identify and explore. Which had made me inspired by Danielle Scott's works.
“Cindy Sherman opened a lot of the doors. She was the trendsetter in terms of distorted characters within self-portraiture. Originally painters painted self-portraits, and then she kind of blew it open with photographic portraiture, and now there are all these avenues younger artists are taking, which would not have been so easy without her work.”
What Mayers had expressed about Cindy Sherman art, made me realize we have to stop capturing a moment and changing it in photoshop. Capture and moment and re-lived it.
“I still like the idea of challenging myself through the more hands-on methods, only because I think it’s more challenging when you are limited,” Sherman says.
I always wonder how these big celebrities and influencers get such nice and high quality pictures. I decided to do my own research and noticed that most of the pictures were photoshopped. But, while I was doing my research I came to this influencers who taught her followers how to edit the light or contrast on an Iphone and what type of pose you can do to challenge your inner art and create your own in the making.
