For this collage, I decided to create a collage that somehow depicted me and where I want to be in life. I found a lot of these scraps from some magazines we had from class or from mail I got throughout the week. Throughout the project, I tried incorporating colors and things that I feel represent me and who I am. For example, I had gotten my aura read a couple of years back and the colors came back as a yellow and orange hue so I found one print from a magazine that looked similar to it. I also added some pictures from this home catalog my mom got in the mail to add more emphasis on things that I'm interested in. When I was creating it, I was getting a bit annoyed because I didn't like how it came out so I thought I'd just make it on adobe illustrator instead. But after some thought I figured it would be better to leave this one as is because there might’ve been some reason I chose these photos whether or not I liked how it came out. What inspired this collage aside from wanting it to be personal to me was the fact that both Cindy Sherman and Frida Kahlo had their art based around themselves which I think is a beautiful way of showing self love.
Quotes:
"Nowadays, with digital printing, its easy to make everything perfect, which is not always a good idea. Sometimes the mistakes are what really make a piece."- Cindy Sherman
